that this is one of the most planned and anticipated holidays of the year. There will be lots of hugs, lots of laughter, lots of drinking and lots of food.
Sadly enough, however, there may be a limited supply of true Thanksgiving. More and more the Thanksgiving holiday has become only about food and fun. Family and friends get together without so much as a thankful gesture toward anyone or anything. This reality is disappointing enough, but what takes it to a heart-breaking level is the fact that we even forget to express our thanksgiving to God Himself. Christians (should) render thanksgiving to God by living their lives in a way that shows they appreciate His daily blessings. This thankful attitude is a natural response for the true Believer. Everything we do and everything we own is made possible by God’s abundant Grace. God continually supplies all of our needs according to His own riches. Philippians 4:19 says: 19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. This beautiful passage also reveals the way God chose to give us all things. It is by and through His son Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that in order to save us from destruction, God spared nothing; not even His Son. If that were not enough, along with the gift of His Son, God also freely gives us every other blessing we come in contact with on a daily basis. Consider Romans 8:32: 32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Friends, this year, let your Thanksgiving celebration be full of true Thanksgiving. When all your friends and loved ones are gathered, take a moment to Thank God for how wonderful He is. If true Thanksgiving is already part of your tradition, then may I suggest sharing the secret with others, so that they too can experience the joy of celebrating a true Thanksgiving.
